Mobil - Fuelling Global Warming
Action Alert: International day of Action
against Exxon-Mobil (Mobil) July 11
Thousands of protesters in fifteen different countries will take part in the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION against the transnational oil company EXXON-MOBIL tomorrow July 11th, 2001.
In Melbourne, protesters will hang banners over key arterial routes and then target Mobil service stations in the federal seat of Aston where a by election will be held this Saturday.
From July 16 to 27, Bonn, Germany: World leaders will meet for the UN climate negotiations. In Bonn they will decide if the Kyoto Protocol, the world's only binding agreement to reduce CO2 emissions, will survive, or if they will let political inaction cause climate disaster.

On Sunday June 10th, Friends of the Earth International (FoEI) will celebrate its founding thirty years ago with the release of a special publication and the launch of a new logo and visual identity.From the few individuals who came together with the dream of creating an international environmental network of groups working for environmental protection and social justice in 1971, Friends of the Earth has grown into a global federation with 66 national member groups. FoEI currently has nearly one million members around the world, and unites some 5,000 local grassroots groups in South, North, East and West.
