The National Health and Medical Research Council has released its long-awaited review into wind farms and health.
The review finds no conclusive evidence linking wind farms to ill health affects.
“The NHMRC review shows, once again, that wind farms are clean and safe,” said Leigh Ewbank, Friends of the Earth’s renewable energy spokesperson.
“These findings are consistent with previous research, so should be of no surprise to anyone.”

The Abbott government's Renewable Energy Target Review, announced this afternoon, shows once again that this government puts ideology ahead of good policy.
"Tony Abbott's choice of panel members shows once again that this government puts ideology before good policy," said Leigh Ewbank, Friends of the Earth energy spokesperson.
The appointment of climate change denier Dick Warburton to head the review panel is a troubling sign for the Australian renewable energy sector.

Urgent protest over approval of dredging in Great Barrier Reef
Environment Minister Greg Hunt has done the unthinkable and approved 3 million cubic metres of dredging at Abbot Point in the Great Barrier Reef.
He has put the interests of coal companies ahead of the Reef, and ignored the concerns of scientists, fishermen and tourism operators.

The ‘ashes’ of the Australian Government’s conscience on climate change were presented to the nation’s High Commission in London today by Friends of the Earth (Monday 18 November 2013). The award was in recognition of Australia’s mounting opposition to international efforts to cut carbon emissions at the UN climate summit, currently taking place in Warsaw, Poland.
